Iridescent Hollow Album Artwork

One of my first freelance artist commissions was this piece for the composer Laura JH Ball who was looking for an album cover for her latest woodwind quartet piece.

It was the first time I utilised my synaesthesia in a project to choose the colour palette for an artwork. Basically the way that works, is that I listen to a piece and see which colours it brings to mind. I ended up creating quite a subdued monochrome aesthetic, which I really enjoyed working with here.

Laura really wanted owl’s eyes to feature in the work so they’re the only aspect which deviate from the black and red colour scheme, to really make them pop on the cover
