Pride of Place: Creative Workshops for Queer People
Are you a queer person? Do you have a place in County Durham that’s special to you because of your queerness? Do you want to be creative in an inclusive space? Then come along and join Emory Southwick at one of three free workshops at Merryoaks Community Hall! Emory Southwick will be hosting three free creative workshops for queer LGBTQ+ people to come together and create an artwork, comic, or short piece of writing about a place where you had a queer experience in County Durham. This could be anything from where you came out, to the first time you felt comfortable being yourself, or just somewhere that means a lot to you! All materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring things along. The art, stories, and comics made in the workshops will become part of a book about queerness in County Durham. Each participant will get a copy of the book and have the right to have their work anonymised should they wish. You can get your free ticket here or click on the registration button!
